Abcam supports the United Nations Global Compact
This year the United Nations celebrates its 75th anniversary, while the UN Global Compact marks its 20th anniversary.
We are proud to have recently joined the UN Global Compact as signatories, connecting with over 11,500 other companies to show our support for corporate sustainability and operating in ways that, at a minimum, meet fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption to help shape a sustainable future.
By incorporating the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into strategies, policies and procedures, and establishing a culture of action, Abcam is not only upholding its basic responsibilities to people and planet, but also setting the stage for long-term success. Developing projects and policies which advance the broader UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Good health and well-being (SDG 3), Quality education (SDG 4), Gender equality (SDG 5), Decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), Industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9), Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) and Climate action (SDG 13).
We are proud to be part of this ambitious, collective aspiration to take sustainability from the fringes to the mainstream through uniting business for a better world and have incorporated the UN principles into our own sustainability framework and commitments.
To learn more about how we are creating sustainable value across our business please read ‘Our Impact 2020’ where we have outlined ten long-term commitments as we work to maximize our positive and minimize our negative impact.
