Our Impact 2020 report is the outcome of a major sustainability review, bringing together data and inputs from across the business for the first time.
To deepen our understanding and more accurately measure our impact, we reviewed global policies and processes, collected and analyzed data, and engaged with our major stakeholders. We identified material sustainability risks and opportunities and mapped them against our value chain using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We have been transparent and have set ourselves ten long-term commitments to focus us as we maximize our positive impact and minimize our negative impact. These are organized into four areas: products, people, partners and planet.
We have applied to become signatories to the UN Global Compact (UNGC), a voluntary corporate sustainability initiative that aligns business strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and takes actions that advance the societal goals that make up the SDGs. We are integrating the principles of the UNGC into our business in anticipation of our membership being approved.
As we continue to create sustainable value, we recognize that the actions we take and progress we make are dynamic and ongoing. We will provide further updates and disclosures on our impact throughout the year in the sustainability section of our website.
