Co-creating antibodies, enabling critical oncology applications

As CRUK-funded researchers work to unravel some of the important targets and pathways involved in driving cancer they often reach a blockade as there are no commercial antibodies available that target the specific key protein that they need to study, Alternatively, those antibodies that are available do not perform in a required research application.

Recognising Abcam’s outstanding track record in discovering, developing and manufacturing quality antibodies for reproducible results they have teamed up with the Company to develop antibodies against critical oncology targets for their research/experiments with potential future applications in diagnostics and treatments.

Global cancer researchers benefiting from Abcam’s wide geographical reach

Under the terms of the partnership, Abcam will develop custom antibodies and other protein-based binding reagents to targets identified by CRUK-funded researchers. In addition, Abcam’s global supply capability and co-location in major technology hubs throughout the world will enable these innovative reagents to be made readily accessible to the wider research and diagnostic community

The antibodies resulting from this partnership will expand scientists’ access to biological reagents, supporting research to further the understanding of cancer biology, help generate new diagnostic tools, and potentially be the basis for novel therapies.
