Commercial partnership to facilitate rapid discovery of novel biology and biomarkers

To facilitate the discovery of novel biology and biomarkers, NanoString chose Abcam as its antibody partner to create and supply specially labeled antibodies for use with its GeoMx^® Digital Spatial Profiler platform.

As a leading provider of life science tools for translational research and molecular diagnostic products, NanoString launched its GeoMx™ Digital Spatial Profiler (DSP) platform to enable highly multiplexed spatial profiling of protein or RNA targets in a variety of sample types, including Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) tissue sections.

Demand for a consistent supply of fit-for-purpose recombinant antibodies

To support the growing menu of protein assays available on its GeoMx™ DSP platform and individual requests from end-users for additional reagents for their specific research, NanoString needed a partner who could provide access to validated recombinant antibodies. NanoString therefore looked to Abcam to enhance their off-the-shelf GeoMx Protein Panels with additional antibodies that target key disease research areas.
Since Abcam’s antibodies are manufactured recombinantly in vitro they can be repeatedly produced from the same antibody DNA sequence and manufactured at scale. This ensures batch-to-batch consistency over time and strengthens security of supply.

Under the terms of the partnership NanoString are selecting from of over 6,000 immuno-histochemistry (IHC) validated RabMAb^® monoclonal antibodies, for incorporation into their modular GeoMx DSP panels.

Developing individual reagents to address specific research questions

To support the needs of individual researchers who require GeoMx DSP ready antibodies tailored to their novel research program, NanoString has commissioned Abcam to be their preferred provider of these conjugated tailored antibodies.
The resulting tailored analytes are added to an existing panel module and extend the utility of the panel to support the researcher’s specific investigations.

A lifetime of consistency, giving confidence in results

From spatial profiling research and biomarker discovery through to drug development, giving end- users confidence in their results is vital. Since these catalogue GeoMx DSP compatible antibodies are produced recombinantly and are highly validated, they help ensure consistent reproducible data over time as well as data comparability across multiple applications.
