My role at Abcam is to manage all commercial activities in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). From a researcher’s perspective, this involves making sure products can be imported under the correct permits, pricing and delivery information is accurate, organizations know how to purchase from Abcam, ensuring eProcurement punchout and hosted catalogues are up-to-date and that orders are placed and delivered without any issues. I also manage a sales and marketing team who promote new products and host events. We all work to ensure a seamless process so researchers can accurately select, order, receive and use our products. We are also here to quickly solve any issues in conjunction with our customer service and scientific support teams.
After completing my PhD, I moved from the lab to the business world, and have loved combining both skills to further scientific discoveries. Something I particularly enjoy at Abcam is working together with researchers to develop solutions to their needs, whether it be to help create a novel custom antibody, assist in the development of an in vitro diagnostic kit or to find an existing product that will solve their issues.
